Apples

By Cameron Taylor

Notes
The sun knows not its greatness
A graceful spiral
Through the universe
Sitting atop the baubled pine
Tinsel flowing down, delicate curved lines,
A symbol of joy
Burning through shadows
Leaving memories adorned with her presents.
Oblivious to her influence.
Explosive potential,
Elegant existence.
Melting hearts over time
With little resistance.

In a moment I’m reflective of her spirit
I the moon to her sun
One blessed by her choice to give it
An endless dance around the planet
Chasing our moments of eclipse
Our closest moments
Almost lips to lips
My spirit shifts.
My north star of the daylight,
Break through clouds in the night.
A site for sore eyes
A silo for my cries
Bright colours and a slow rise.
A fight for the midday sun

Though sometimes forgotten,
She is and always has been
A star amongst stars
