Loved Like Oceans
To age is a beautiful tragedy
Simultaneous growth and loss.
We exchange our infinite
For a life worth living.
Like a song or wine
If it went forever
It might not be so great
But this lesson seems not to be learnt
Until it’s far too late.
To grieve
Lives in humans
Still trapped in the finite
Inevitable to the loss
But this not fear to be
No care to see
But we go on living
So that we might fill a moment.
Or two.
Grief is the vessel of what was.
The greater the life…
The greater the ocean.
